Intro to Surf Coaching

For those coaching beginner SLS athletes. Empowers parents and adults to embark on coaching SLS and raises their awareness of athlete needs, skills and the environment while focusing on enjoyment.

Enables parents & caregivers to assist in the delivery of a coaching session and reinforce basic key coaching points with athletes.

Developing Surf Coach

For those coaching athletes of all ages and abilities that are starting to develop fundamental SLS skills.

Enables the coach to successfully plan, deliver and review a coaching session to fit the needs of the athletes you coach.

Surf Official Level 1

A course aimed at anyone wishing to assist with event management at either Junior Surf or Surf Sports events. (This allows fantastic spectator viewing for parents wanting to watch their children compete)

This course introduces participants to the specifics of how to judge events; what is required of surf officials on and off the beach, what surf sports equipment looks like and what it is used for and how to communicate with athletes, team managers and parents.

NOTE: Every club MUST supply 1 qualified Surf Official for every 10 competitors at all events. This will be strictly enforced this season.

Surf Certificate

Minimum qualification for all coaches and in the water parent helpers, assists with our required ratio of 1:5 adults to children in the water (Beach swim, or 200m in pool within 4 ½ minutes, tube rescue, first aid and theory).

Surf Lifeguard Award

Prepares you to become a lifeguard at the beach. This covers a number of theoretical and practical modules e.g. signals, radio, CPR, First Aid, swimming and rescue techniques.
